Caribbean Life/Bequia Easter Regatta
People in St. Vincent & the Grenadines love getting together and
having fun. Playing dominoes is one of the islands' older generation's favorite pastimes.
Generally, even behind the fiercest expression lies a well-developed sense of humor, only waiting for
a chance to break through.
The annual Bequia Easter Regatta, held over four days, and the June Carnival are the sporting and cultural highpoints of
island life. That's when the islanders love to forget about their humdrum everyday lives and give their party side a
free rein: sport, rum and music! Their joie de vivre is infection. And if then Calypso legend The Mighty Sparrow gives a club
concert in Kingstown, the audience is sure to go wild!
